''Chorus'', Erasure's fifth proper studio album, was released by Mute Records in the UK and Sire Records in the US in 1991 (see 1991 in music).Upon its release, ''Chorus'' became Erasure's third consecutive number one album in the UK and gave them four more Top 20 hits. In the US, it was Erasure's highest debuting and highest peaking album on the Billboard 200 at the time, entering at #29. It gave Erasure their first Billboard Hot 100 entry since "Stop!" with the title track, which also charted well on the Modern Rock chart and Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

Chart placings - ''Chorus'' was Erasure's third number one album in the UK and brought them to a new peak on the Billboard 200 when it debuted at #29. Three singles were released in the US, with those same songs released in the UK in addition to the ''Am I Right?'' extended play EP. Although only "Chorus" charted on the Billboard Hot 100 (reaching #83), it hit number three in the UK, followed by a number four peak for "Love To Hate You", a number fifteen peak for the ''Am I Right?''
