Cibo is a main character in the manga BLAME! by Tsutomu Nihei.He is the head scientist of the corporation in the Capitol and joins Killy on his quest for the Net Terminal GenesNet Terminal Gene.spoiler cleanup-dateAugust 2005 Killy 's first encounter with Cibo is in The Capitol, and at the lower levels of The Corporation, where it is suggested that she had been imprisoned, so to speak, for a crime she had committed against The Corporation. Cibo's first form is the decaying upper torso of a woman, with machinery inserted into her body to keep her alive. She convinces Killy to take her with him, by stating that he needs her hacking skills to access the files he is looking for. Afterwards she aquires a human form and she destroys The Corporation's President with Killy's help. The cause for her imprisonment turns out to be that she had tried to access the Net Sphere with an artificially created version of Net Terminal GenesNet Terminal Gene but the experiment failed with disastrous results and summoned the Safeguard which caused the destruction of the entire lab facility. She become Killy's companion from then on since he also exploring the City and has a Gravitational Beam EmitterGBE which is the only weapon which can breach the Megastructure.Cibo also has a very subtle connection with the ever-elusive Netsphere. Even if she were able to make a direct connection to the Netsphere, it would automaticaly invoke the Safeguard.Later on in the manga, Cibo inhabits Sanakan 's body, and uses its powers to aid Killy in his search. However, by keeping Sanakan's body, Cibo runs the danger of Sanakan resurfacing.After the encounter with Silicon Life, Mensab and Seu, Killy is teleported to an Parallel worldalternate reality, where he meets Cibo in her old form. Both Cibos face one another, and seek to return to their original reality in the attempt of which, the Cibo from the alternate reality is killed. Upon their return to the actual reality, the alternate Cibo appears yet again, but, dies in a battle with the Safeguard. The actual Cibo is thrown into despair by this, and ultimately, Sanakan resurfaces. However, due to the transfer of genetic information, the other Cibo is revived; and takes the place of the actual one.
