A fictional character created for ''Batman: The Animated Series'', Germs is the only one of Roland Daggett's henchmen to appear in more than one episode. He was voiced by Ed Begley, Jr.spoiler Germs got his nickname from his fear of disease, which is extreme to the point that he uses handkerchiefs to open doors rather than touch the knobs with his bare hands. He first appears in ''Feat of Clay, Part One'' where he assists Raymond Bell in the attempted hit on Lucius Fox, and later helps Bell try to kill ClayfaceMatt Hagen by holding Hagen down while Bell pours gallons of the shapeshifting chemical Renuyu down the actor's throat. In ''Feat of Clay, Part Two'' Germs is sent by Daggett to kill Fox in a hospital (a place Germs would've preferred to stay away from, fearful that he might catch a disease from "all those sick people"). Germs' attempt on Fox's life is thwarted by Batman, who corners him in the hospital's viral pathology lab. Threatening him with a beaker of what he claims is crimson fever (but is really just water), Batman learns that it was Matt Hagen who had impersonationimpersonated Bruce Wayne to fool Fox. Shortly afterwards, Hagen, now deformed into a hideous mass of shapeshifting chemicals called Clayface, appears and carries Germs to the roof, planning to throw him off to his death. Batman rescues him, and after driving Clayface away leaves Germs to be arrested by the police.Category:Batman villains
