Jacuzzi is a brand of bathtubs and saunas. Its first product was a bath with massaging jets; the trademarked name is commonly misused to refer to any bath with water jets. Sometimes spas and hot tubs are also mistakenly refered to as Jacuzzis.The Jacuzzi J-300 pump was invented by a man hoping to relieve his 8-year-old son from some of the discomfort of rheumatoid arthritis. The son, Kenneth Jacuzzi, eventually ran the company.In 1968, Roy Jacuzzi invented the first self-contained, fully integrated whirlpool bath in 1968. In 1970, he created the first outdoor hot tub.
