Manic the Hedgehog was a character in the US tv series ''Sonic Underground''. Manic is Sonic the Hedgehog's sibling, on a quest with Sonic and his sister Sonia (Sonic The Hedgehog) Sonia to find their mother, Queen Aleena Hedgehog.Manic is different from Sonic in that Manic's hair is more spikey and shaggy than Sonic's hair. ''Sonic Underground'' is the only appearance of Manic in any Sonic-related media. Manic was voiced by Jaleel White from the US television series ''Family Matters (TV series)Family Matters''.
Role - Manic plays the drums in the band of the three siblings Sonia, Sonic, and himself. Like his siblings, he possesses an amulet resembling a musical instrument (in Manic's case, the drums) that doubles as a weapon when the three of them are in harmony.Manic's character is a pickpocket, placing him in the lowest role of growing up for the siblings: Sonic lived in an average home, while Sonia lived like a princess. Manic possesses neither his brother's super speed nor his sister's strength. However, when used properly, his drumset can control the earth, creating seismic activity under Manic's direction. Manic's vehicle of choice is a hover board, rather like a skate or surfboard, though he can not always control it.
Archie comics - In the Archie comics continuity, there is a character called Manic that is the future child of Sonic the Hedgehog by Princess Sally and appeared in the miniseries "Mobius: 25 Years Later". He is, for the most part, unconnected to the Manic of ''Sonic Underground''.
Future game realease??? - In the sneak peek of "Sonic Riders" there is a character who looks like both "Bean the dynamite" and "Manic the hedgehog" However, when he is shown in the preview it says "a new rival!" Also in the movie, he says "You can't catch up with her! Get out of my way!" , However he has a beak meaning this might not be true.For a brief moment a charecter who looks slightly like Sonia, but more like Nights is shown. Also a character looking like a thinner, silver version of big is shown.The green character is Jet the Hawk. The purple character is Wave the Swallow. The silver character is Storm the Albatross.
