"Pigs (Three Different Ones)" is a song from Pink Floyd's 1977 in music1977 album ''Animals (album)Animals''. In the three parts of "Dogs (song)Dogs", "Pigs (Three Different Ones)Pigs" and "Sheep (song)Sheep", Pigs represents the people at the top, the ones with the wealth and the power (sociology)power. The first verse refers to no one in particular, rather businessmen in general. The second verse, however, is an all out assault on then opposition leader Margaret Thatcher (who the band indirectly say they wish to shoot - "Good fun with a hand gun" - and call a "bus stop rat bag/fucked up old hag"). She is, however, never mentioned by name. The third mentions Mary Whitehouse by name, painting her as a prudish, sexually repressed "house proud town mouse". This could not have done more to contribute to Whitehouse's negative image of Pink Floyd, who she thought were immorally promoting sex and drugs. Some Americans mis-construed this verse as "Hey You White House" as in taking a shot at the US political climate.Halfway through the song, Gilmour uses a talkbox on the guitar solo and Waters uses a vocoder to mimic the sound of pigs. Because of this song, guitars played with talkboxes are commonly referred to as "pig guitars".

Also, an additional guitar solo was added after the second verse before repeating the chorus riff of "you're nearly a laugh" which included some of the laughter of roadie Roger the Hat's laughter from Dark Side of the Moon. Then, the talk-box solo was replaced by a synthesizer solo from Wright. Also, Roger Waters would scream a different number at song's end in a "Careful With That Axe Eugene" scream. Gilmour's ending solo would then slow down and go into a Rick Wright organ solo before speeding up with a bombastic ending Gilmour solo.Category:Pink Floyd songs
